The Popular Show Season Four Unveils the Soldiers Party

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in power within the city.

Note: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure are included.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of heroes who will separate from the main group to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.

This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the developments of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his own means, entering the hidden lair, attacking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.

The antagonist then settled his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires retribution.
  • Kattigan has experience in the region and advises that it is a hostile place.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their status as important members in the powerful family could help the team access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, The fighter pledged a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The warrior and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This results in them few options but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.

What’s Next?

Based on the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Seekers and Strategists tables.

Fans can anticipate finding out which characters will be where in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
